Hurricane Nicole lashed Florida with winds, rain, and a dangerous storm surge, bringing flooding, power outages, and damage to homes.  The American Red Cross is supporting people with shelter, food and relief items as they continue to help those affected by the hurricane, which devastated parts of Florida six weeks ago.  As the storm made its way through the state, more than 460 people remained in 16 evacuation shelters run by the Red Cross and other organizations throughout Florida.  Of these, 3 were supported by the Red Cross and our partners.  Meanwhile, more than 630 people remain in six shelters run by the Red Cross and partners.   The Red Cross has provided more than 2,200 meals and snacks and has distributed comfort kits and other relief supplies t
